About Us
A Clinically Informed Psychosocial Risk Consultancy, Helping Organisations Create Sustainable, Compliant and Effective Systems
It Could Be Better (ICBB) was established from a simple observation.
Across organisations of all sizes, conversations about mental health have become increasingly common, yet many organisations continue to experience the same challenges:
Stress concerns escalating before action is taken.
Managers lacking confidence in how to respond.
Inconsistent approaches between teams.
Delayed intervention.
Unclear pathways for support.
These challenges are rarely caused by a lack of good intention. More often, they reflect a lack of structure.
Our aim is to help organisations build practical systems that enable earlier intervention, clearer decision-making and healthier workplaces.
Our Background
The consultancy was founded by Jake Fleet, a Mental Health Nurse with over ten years of experience working across inpatient, community, leadership and service improvement settings.
Since moving into corporate mental health, Jake has completed hundreds of workplace mental health assessments across multiple industries.
A consistent theme emerged:
Many organisations were investing heavily in wellbeing initiatives whilst lacking the operational systems needed to identify, manage and review mental health concerns effectively.
This consultancy was developed in response to that observation.
Our Approach
All services are built around a simple operational framework:
Notice → Understand → Respond → Review
Notice concerns early.
Understand the contributing factors.
Respond with practical actions.
Review effectiveness and adjust where required.
This framework can be applied at:
Organisational level
Team level
Individual level
Creating consistency across all areas of workplace mental health management.
Our Goal
Our aim is not simply to increase awareness.
Our aim is to help organisations build psychologically healthier, legally compliant and operationally sustainable workplaces through practical systems, leadership capability and clinically informed support.
